Just say NO to psychic disinfo

You ever watch a movie or tv show that makes you laugh at how they use the computer?
They say they are going to look something up or do something and all they do is type some letter on the keyboard and boom.. they have launched mulitiple programs researched things and calculated odds.. all without ever touching a mouse to launch a program?

Remember weird Science how it looked when they hacked into the "system" to give their computer more processing power? Remember how the concept of what they were doing was as ludicrous as the skull that they saw when accessing outside files?

Well that is just exactly how equally outrageous those old Miss Cleo and Psychic Friends lines were in how they represented psychic abilities in real people.

For the majority of gifted people out there it is NOTHING like what they project it to be when you have psychic powers. Here are some examples of what its like for real people with real powers from personal experience.
1. DejaVu- many people will tell you this is not only real but sometimes annoyingly common.
You dream or see something happen and then later on it actually happens EXACTLY the way you saw it previously.. word for word, detail for detail.. everything is the same.
2. The phone gift- You know it.. its when you hear the phone ring and before you answer it you just "KNOW" who it is.
3.The radio thing- You suddenly get this song in your head out of the blue for no apparent reason.. turn on the radio and there it is.
4. general precognition- Knowing something is going to happen before it happens. Doesn't matter what it is..

All of these fall under the blanket of precognition. The ability to predict the future.
This is not something most gifted people can do at will. This is something that just happens to them at random. It is not normally like you can call someone with psychic precognitive gifts and say tell me what is going to happen to me in 2 months.
They know what they know and they don't know why they know it... they just do.
In some cases when they know someone well enough to have a sort of link with them it is possible with ALOT of mental exertion to make a link with their mind but usually it is not in the form of precognition but of telepathy.

Telepathy.. this is a totally different form of ability and is less common than precognition.
Telepathy is when you can focus on someone and know what they are thinking.. you see their thoughts and vice versa if you are strong enough.

These are the abilities that I have the most experience with.. so far I have had no experience with telekenisis so I cannot comment on that ability and the true nature of how it works but perhaps there is a reader out there that can share from experience. :)

So Precognition and Telepathy are my "gifts". Thats what people call them.
I think like anything it is in the eye of the beholder whether or not something should be considered a gift. My verdict is still out.

When I was young and all the way up to the present I have had numerous experiences with each of the listed phenomena. Most of them are not intrusive in everyday life and not harmful.
I think from a personal standpoint I got scared of my own abilities because they do seem to be so uncontrolled.

when I was a teen my mother tested me in various ways most often she would test my powers of telepathy. She would choose an object and focus on it and ask me to identify it. I was extremely good at this. Not trusting my mother though I tested myself with friends as well to make sure I was as strong with that gift as she claimed and to my surprise I was just as accurate with friends as I had been with her so I then decided to do one final test to see just how strong my abilities were and I focused on something that I wanted her to do for me. I chose something that I thought would be very random and unlikely so being that it was early morning I projected the thought to her that I wanted some popcorn. who eats popcorn for breakfast right?
My mother turned to me and asked me in a almost confused voice if I would like some popcorn.
I said yes and vowed to stop trying to use that ability. I was hit almost instantly with a guilt over the fact that I had invaded her mind and placed that thought there. I had no right. I scared myself and was deeply ashamed at the same time.

The sound of silence

No not the song by Simon and Garfunkel written in the aftermath of the Kennedy assasination.
I am talking about that sound that exists when all other sound is removed. Not everyone hears it or so they say, I think everyone has the ability to hear it but we have very few times in our lives where we can enjoy total silence. The sound is like a resonating hum. It is constant and deafening when all other sound is gone. I actually cannot stand to hear it for long because it is so loud to me that it is hard to deal with.. so I usually find a way to create sound so that I no longer hear it. White noise as I have previously stated is an old friend of mine and it helps cover up that sound as well.
Still I wonder what this sound is. Is it the sound of the earth itself?
